DataMite Meet Up Event

The DATAMITE Project Meetup, organised by OTE’s IT Innovation Centre under the theme ‘Bridging Research and Industry in EU-funded Innovation,’ will bring together Europe’s leading innovators, researchers, policymakers, and industry experts to foster collaboration, accelerate data-driven progress, and develop a cohesive strategy for Europe’s digital future.

The event will feature five panel discussions, where participants will explore cutting-edge research, exchange insights, and address challenges, needs, and solutions in key areas such as data ethics, privacy, cybersecurity, AI, IoT, and sustainable innovation.

The Five Panels Include:

Creating Value in Data Marketplaces: The Role of Data Spaces – Opportunities & Risks: this panel will examine the growing popularity of data marketplaces, where organisations buy and sell data, and discuss both the potential value and the associated risks.

Data Exploitation in the Health Sector: this session will focus on how healthcare organisations can exploit data assets to create value, including opportunities for revenue generation, best practices, risks, and innovative business models.

Data Monetisation Strategies & The Value of Data as an Asset: this panel will explore how organisations can generate revenue from data, sharing best practices, risks, and innovative strategies for data monetisation.

Data-Driven Transformation Across Industries: Lessons and Innovations in Key Sectors: this panel will highlight how data is transforming industries such as healthcare, finance, retail, manufacturing, and transportation, showcasing sector-specific challenges, innovations, and best practices for using data to drive growth and efficiency.

Privacy and Security in the Age of Data – Balancing Legal and Ethical Challenges: a deep dive into the challenges of balancing data monetisation with user privacy, this session will explore the legal and ethical issues involved in ensuring user rights are respected while generating revenue.
