EO4EU Technologies: discover EO4EU platform and its cutting- edge technologies, XR, ML and Knowledge Graph
Today, we are presented with access to an enormous amount of EO data. For instance, Sentinel satellites alone collect data annually that likely exceeds 10 petabytes (10^16 bytes), a volume far beyond what the average user can comprehend.
Managing such vast datasets, therefore, demands advanced solutions. In this regard, the #EO4EU platform leverages cutting-edge #technologies such as #machinelearning, #knowledgegraphs, and #extendedreality. These technologies play a pivotal role not only in processing large volumes of data but also in integrating information from diverse sources, allowing for interactive and immersive visualisation. This significantly improves the accessibility and usability of the data.
A key feature of the platform is the EO4EU AI/ML marketplace, which provides AI and ML models and algorithms without the need to develop them from scratch. These services are further enhanced by serverless cloud solutions (FaaS), enabling code execution without the complexities of managing underlying infrastructure.
Additionally, the project seeks to introduce a Graph-Based Text Representation, which will facilitate the organisation and integration of data through logical and intuitive connections.
Finally, the platform aims to enhance data visualisation through an extended reality (XR) system. This includes augmented reality (AR) interfaces that enable the analysis of Earth observation data in real-world environments, as well as virtual reality (VR) for immersive 3D data exploration.
With these innovations, the EO4EU platform is poised to redefine how Earth observation data is managed, accessed, and visualised, advancing both research and decision-making.
