Abstract

The type of information collected and processed through the EO4EU system may raise ethical issues due to the possible focus and characterization of specific regions/locations/settlements (high level) and the association of personal information and type of activity bound to them (low level). The exact
type of applications that will be fueled by the EO4EU infrastructure needs to be communicated in detail to the consortium, scrutinized and approved/rejected.
The project establishes the Ethics Advisory Board (EAB). The EAB is composed by representatives of all consortium members and its mandate is to approve the applications that are interfaced to the platform and monitor for possible deviations. Overall, the EAB ensures that the project is proceeding in a responsible and ethically acceptable manner.
Moreover, this deliverable assesses the Trustworthiness of the AI based tools developed and deployed in EO4EU.
